Many people discredit the profession by thinking that chiropractors don’t receive the equivalent education as medical professionals. Chiropractic students actually receive 4,485 hours of college classroom instruction versus 4,248 hours for other medical students.
The difference in chiropractic education and medical education is chiropractic focuses on learning exactly how the body functions, the anatomy of the body and exactly how to help the body heal itself. Medical students must spend much of their educational time learning about drugs and the reactions of those drugs in a person’s body.
Chiropractors have required ongoing annual continued education just like medical doctors and have the same residency time as a medical doctor as well.
